Fast Footwork - Rec U10 & Above

Sessions will be thorough and demanding training, designed for the more serious soccer players. These sessions will stress the integration of individual technical, tactical and physical development. Following a natural progression, these sessions will refine fundamental skills and introduce advanced techniques with the emphasis on 1v1 beating an opponent. The players will develop a higher comfort level with the ball which instills confidence and increases their technical and tactical speeds giving the players more time to make decisions needed in game situations.

Sessions will be held Friday evenings 6:00pm until 7:00pm.  Starting Friday March 9, 2012 and run consecutively until Friday April 26, 2012 with the exception of April 6th (spring break) at Braly Soccer Complex.

Goalkeeper Academy

West Metro Soccer Club is excited to announce its partnership with LDGA, Ron Apollon and his staff for the 2011-12 season. LDGA training focuses on both the physical and the mental aspect of goalkeeping. LDGA’s goal is to enhance each player’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological ability in order to become a successful goalkeeper.

In addition to teaching the technical and tactical skills required by goalkeepers, the LDGA training also focus on teaching the goalkeepers to establish a presence and be leaders on the field. Most activities are performed in a game like environment to ensure that the goalkeepers understand when to apply the technical and tactical skills. The LDGA training curriculum instills in the young players that it is as important to prevent shots, as it is to make a save. LDGA’s philosophy is to expose all keepers to various styles of coaching while focusing on the same techniques.

In order for goalkeepers to acquire the physical and psychological attributes needed to succeed at their position, they must receive a great deal of training from coaches who can effectively correct their mistakes, compliment them for their achievements, and motivate them to enhance their skills. For this reason West Metro Soccer Club has retained LDGA as a premier resource to conduct a continuous and extensive goalkeeper training program for all West Metro Academy and Select players and coaches. Academy/Select Keepers will receive a 1 ½ hour session each week throughout the season which will include written feedback and evaluations. U8 Junior Academy

This program is designed for recreational players seeking additional, more advanced training. It is for the more technically advanced rec. player who possesses a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and the desire to advance his/her personal knowledge and skill level. It is not intended for those with only a casual interest nor is it intended to be a remedial soccer practice. The purpose is to assist in propelling U-8 rec. players into our U-10 Academies and eventually into our Athena & Classic select programs, or to simply enable participants to become better rec. level players. By increasing the skills of the individual players, this program will enhance the quality of the WMSC recreational program. Players will practice 2 times a week as a U-10 team and will have scrimmages against some of the clubs U-10 teams and academy teams. If numbers allow; team(s) may be entered into a post season Rec tournament as a U-10 team.

Sessions will be held Tuesday evenings 6pm until 7pm.  Starting Tuesday March 6, 2012 and run consecutively until  April 24, 2012 with the exception of spring break (April 3rd) at Braly Soccer Complex.  Cost is $20.00.
