Brett Taylor – Director of Select/Academy – Girls
Brett comes to WMSC with over 19 years in coaching at the collegiate and club level where he enjoyed success with a number of different programs. Those positions included DOC at three different clubs and the Head Coach of Women’s program at Northwood University. He has placed over 80 players through his tenure at the collegiate ranks. Brett also played collegiately as captain of High Point University where his team was ranked as high as 9th in the nation at the NAIA level. He holds a USSF “C” National license and has significant experience in camps and combines for elite players moving onto the collegiate level.
Joel Sullivan – Director of Select/Academy – Boys
Joel also comes to WMSC with over 19 years focusing on the academy and select level. He served with Wellington Soccer Club as Head Coach and Club Trainer for u9-u18. Through his tenure and following his teams as they progressed at various age levels Joel coached several top level premier teams that have ranked in the top 10 nationally according to Soccer In College based on their age bracket. He graduated 11 players to the collegiate level including 6 at the D1 level at Yale, UNLV, NC State, and others as well as produced two NSCAA High School All Americans. Joel holds a USSF “C” National license and is also currently the Head Coach of Girls Varsity Soccer at North Paulding High.
Mike Ferguson - Director of Recreation & Club Operations
Mike has been involved in soccer as a player, coach, DOC, and board member for over 36 years. He is the former Director of Coaching for West Metro Soccer Club (2004-2008) and Douglas County Soccer Association (1996-2005). He has placed approxiamtely 20 players at the collegiate level. Mike is also an instructor for the Georgia State Soccer Association’s Coaching Education Program and an ODP assessor since 1992 and has certified over 1000 coaches throughout the state. He holds three national (C, Youth, GK1) coaching licenses and one State (D) and three State Certificates (G,F,E).
As part of our leadership structure, our Directors report directly to the VP.
