GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
West Metro Soccer Club offers 3 different programs within our club – Recreational, Academy and Select.
Recreational Program
Recreational Teams are for players that wish to develop basic skills as well as those players that can not commit the time required by the Select teams. Recreational teams are created by balancing each players experience and skill level throughout an age group.
The recreational program is a season by season commitment. We have 2 seasons per year – the Fall season, beginning August/September (which begins the “soccer year) and the Spring Season beginning February/March. You can register for each season at the appropriate time. You are not committed to both seasons, you can play either season or both seasons as you prefer.
Registration:
Registration for the Fall season is held during the month of June and July with practices beginning the middle/end of August and the season beginning with the first game the first of September. Registration for the Spring season is held in January with practices beginning the middle/end of February and the season beginning with the first game the first of March. Each season runs approximately 10 weeks from the first game with each team having 8 to 10 games per season. (**Please note that all new players to West Metro Soccer Club must submit a copy of their birth certificate).
Parents Meeting:
Prior to each season West Metro will hold a parents meeting. This meeting is held on a Sunday at least 2 weeks prior to the first game and is normally held at the Paulding County
Senior/Community Center. This meeting is to introduce the parents to the board members, voting on new board members each Spring to take office each August, inform the parents of what is going on within the club, meet and greet your coach for the season and usually learn your
practice schedules.
Practices and Games:
Each team will have 2 practices each week with games on Saturdays. For the u10 and above age divisions there could be an occasional Sunday game. The practice schedules are set by each individual coach and will usually follow a Monday/Thursday or a Tuesday/Friday schedule. However, the coaches are not limited to this. The practice times will run from 6pm to 7pm, 7pm to 8pm and 8pm to 9pm. As a rule, the younger age divisions will have their practice times from 6pm to 7pm and the older age groups the later times. Each team is rostered and set by the League Registrars and then given to the coaches. It is at this time that the coaches will request their practice schedules with the League Field Scheduler.. Therefore, there is no way to determine what your practice schedule will be in advance of the teams being set. Should you have a conflict, you can discuss with your coach.
All practices will be held at the Braly Soccer Complex with the exception of some of the older teams. Their practices could be held at the Taylor Farm complex.
For the u5 through the u8 age divisions, all games will be held at Braly Soccer Complex. All games are scheduled in house by West Metro’s Field Scheduler. For the u10 and above, all home games will either be held at Braly or at Taylor Farm. There will be some minimal travel for the away games such at to Kennesaw, Smyrna, Villa Rica, Douglasville, Carrollton, etc. All parings and game schedules for these age divisions are prepared by GA State Soccer.
Fees:
The fees include, but are not limited to, registration fees and uniform fees.
Registration fees: All registration fees are posted prior to each registration and will be outlined under “registration info” on the registration page of our website.
Uniform fees: All players are required to purchase uniforms at the time of registration. Our uniforms are generally good for 4 seasons (2 years). If you have purchased a uniform during the uniforms rotation, you will not be required to purchase a new one each registration. If you already have a current uniform but need to purchase a “piece” you will be able to order just the piece you need (ie: you child has outgrown their shorts but not the jerseys, you can purchase just the shorts without having to purchase the entire package or if you have lost one of the jerseys, you can purchase just that color jersey). Our uniform packages include one pair of royal blue shorts, one red jersey and one royal blue jersey. You will be required to purchase socks on your own – one pair of royal blue and one pair of red. You can find these at any sporting goods store or any soccer supply store.
Additional Fees: Additional fees at time of registration may include an out of county fee for players that reside outside of Paulding County. There may also be a late fee applied if applicable. Again, those fees are outlined in the registration information on the registration page of our website. Other additional fees throughout the season may include for trophies, coaches gifts, team managers gift, end of season banquet and tournaments (if applicable for u10 and above age divisions).
Refund Policy: You can view our refund policies on our registration page of our website by clicking on the “refund policy” link provided.

Academy/Select Program
To join a Select team, each player must attend a tryout session and be chosen by an age appropriate coach/team. Select teams are prone to traveling more than an hour for regulation games and tend to enter several tournaments during each season.
These programs are based on a 1 year commitment (both financial and participation) Tryouts are held in May for Academy and in June for Select, with registration following each try-out. The year long commitment begins with the registration for the Fall season and continues through registration for the Spring Season. At the end of the spring season you will again attend the try-outs for the next Fall to Spring season sign-up.
Registration:
You will receive registration packets prior to each season registration from your coach once you have been selected for a team. This packet will include information on all fees

There will be travel involved for the away games and for tournaments.
